Roaming
When placing calls while outside of your Edge Wireless Rate Plan Area, additional charges will apply. For calls placed
within your Rate Plan Area, you are not billed for roaming although your handset's display may say "roaming." When placing
or receiving calls while outside your Rate Plan Area, you are billed for roaming.
Your Rate Plan Area
Your Rate Plan Area depends on the type of plan you have, and the area where you subscribed for Edge Wireless service. Edge
Wireless has Local, Western and National plans. Each of these different types of plans has a different Rate Plan Area. For the
exact boundaries of your Rate Plan Area, please contact Customer Care.
Home Area Display
Your phone will usually display the word "Edge Wireless" if you are on the Edge Wireless Network. Even if your phone
displays "Edge Wireless," this does not mean you are within your Rate Plan Area.
Roaming Indicator
Your phone may indicate that you are roaming if you are not on the Edge Wireless Network. Your charges will depend on your
Rate Plan Area, not the phone's display.
Note:
Your phone will not always accurately indicate when you are roaming. It is important to know your Rate Plan Area to avoid
roaming charges.
Placing and Receiving Calls While Roaming
Placing calls while roaming is easy. Simply place the call as you would any regular long distance call. It is likely that
you will be required to dial ten digits for all calls placed while roaming on another carrier's network, whether the call is
local or long distance.
While you are roaming, a caller needs only to dial your wireless number to reach you. All calls you place or receive while
roaming are subject to roaming charges depending on your rate plan. Calls placed while roaming are subject to appropriate long
distance toll charges and/or applicable taxes.
