The Basics
Before you can make your first call, your phone battery must be fully charged according to your user manual - a step that
gives you the longest "talk" and "standby" times throughout the life of your battery. Your phone service will be activated at
an Edge Wireless retail store or Authorized Dealer location. The following basic instructions will make using your new phone
even easier.
Placing a Call (local and long distance)
- Turn on your phone by pressing the power button - remember, you will not hear a dial tone.
- Dial the 10-digit phone number (area code +7 digit phone number).
- Press YES/TALK/SEND (depending on your handset) to dial the number. See your handset user guide for handset-specific
keys.
Your rate plan will determine which of the calls you dial will incur long distance charges.
Receiving a Call
To receive a call, your phone must be turned ON. When it rings, press YES/TALK/SEND (depending on your phone) to answer the
call.
Ending a Call
Press NO or END (depending on your phone) to end the call. If your phone is a flip style, simply close the phone to end
the call.
Call Waiting
A "beep" tone will be heard when you are receiving another call. Press YES/TALK/SEND to answer the second call or to switch
between calls. To disconnect from your current call and return to the other call, press YES/TALK/SEND.
Call Forwarding
When Call Forwarding Features are active, calls will be directed to the designated number and not to voicemail. Call
Forwarding can be activated through the phone's user menu or by using the codes below. Please consult your user guide for
additional call-forwarding features and for device-specific instructions.
Call Forwarding - Immediate
To automatically transfer your calls to another number without ringing your handset:
- Press
   + 10-digit number + (10-digit number to which you wish to have your calls forwarded.)
- Press YES/TALK/SEND. The screen will give a visual confirmation that call forwarding is activated.
Deactivate Call Forwarding - Immediate
To automatically transfer your calls to another number without ringing your handset:
- Press
  
- Press YES/TALK/SEND. The screen will give a visual confirmation that call forwarding is deactivated.
Call Forward - No Answer Transfer
Unanswered calls after 20 seconds can be automatically transferred to another number:
- Press
    + 10-digit number +   
Deactivate - No Answer Transfer
- Press
    + 10-digit number +   
Three-Way Calling
 - Call the first party.
- While you're on the call, dial the number of the second party and press YES/TALK/SEND.
- When answered, use the OPTIONS selection on the phone's display to either swap between calls or conference them
together.
Some phone models offer a slightly different swapping/conferencing method so please refer to your user guide for
device-specific instructions.
Per-Call Blocking
Per-call blocking allows you to selectively block your wireless number. Simply enter   + 10-digit number you are calling
and press YES/TALK/SEND. Your number will show up on the receiver's Caller ID system as "Private Number Calling" or
"Unavailable."
Line Blocking
This feature prevents your Edge Wireless phone number from appearing on Caller ID systems. It is a permanent block, unlike   ,
which only blocks a single call. Call Edge Wireless to request this free feature. For Per-Call Unblocking, enter   . There is
no charge for this feature.
